“After consulting various staff, players and supporters, the new crest illustrates a more accurate idea of the ‘Eagles’ and matches the passion of the fans on a sold out evening at The E.C.G."

Looks a rather angry Eagle. Maybe more fitting of the members of this forum..? At least the Seaxes are still there: although certain members would prefer an angry man in a turban standing next to a blindfolded man in an orange boilersuit.

Orange: now we have our Saffer skipper in the white ball game, why not go with the Guantanamo look?

Who? Where? When? Anyone know. Or did someone go to the Orange Tree on afternoon and ask three people?

Or am I being unfair?

Does this new angry unfriendly eagle mean the demise of "Eddie", or will he now wear braces and bovva boots.

I truly despair of the club.

I know an eight year old club member (the long term future of the club is surely dependant on such kids getting hooked early) whose first reaction was 'ooooh cool' on seeing the new logo.

I truly despair of members who can't see that appealing to youngsters is crucial. Three seaxes in the logo keeps the middle aged fart in me happy as well.

I'd say it's certain that the new t20 shirt sponsors are keen on the logo change as well. Perhaps the club should have said no to their money?

Fine & dandy so long as the club don't stock any adult sizes.

Which retail at double the price of kids sizes.

Or at least they will until being heavily discounted next October.

Got to admit I agree.  Like it or not T20 money is vital to us, and  like it or not, this is the way T20 is going.  Teams changing their names etc.

How about a logo for the pissheads then with Eddie necking a pint of that Shepherd Neame swill?  ;)

I'd suggest Irani, Gooch, Fletcher, Bowden an inclusive and diverse cross section of opinion, in between their exhaustive round of interviewing in the search for our new head coach.... ;)

It gets the vote from my Essex-mad 11 year-old son, so it looks like they have succeeded in galvanising excitement among the youngsters, which is very important. I myself notice the eagle is looking in a Westerly direction...towards the Olympic Stadium?

Does this new angry unfriendly eagle mean the demise of "Eddie", or will he now wear braces and bovva boots.

With the new sponsor, (7 investment management) fronted by the  extrovert Justin Urquart Stewart, I  expect the players will have to wear red braces.
