Black Bat Illegal

Now if my memory serves me the Sky commentators said that the bat had been approved by the umpires  before being used. Today it says Zaidi was reprimanded for its use following the game. All a bit odd.

I can recollect Barry Richards using a coloured bat in the 1970s in a JPL game. I don't know what colour it was because we only had a black and white telly. The TCCB pretty quickly banned that too.

The ECB regs read as follows:-

Bats
All colours must be restricted to the top 9 inches (22.9 centimetres) on the face of the blade of the bat. There are no restrictions to the use of house colours on the back or edge of bats.

Interesting article in Sunday Times on Zaidi. Says he hopes to use black bat again on Monday. It's all about his support and promotion of charitable issues in Syria and elsewhere. Also talks about disciplinary issues and the fact he still lives in Manchester and drives an old jalopy.

Seen his car where I park my bike.

You hear it first. SCRREECH.

I rather like the fact that a professional sportman has a car that's worse than mine.

Zaidi is clearly our T20 player of the year by a long, long way.

Don't tell me...a battered Beamer or Evo...or rather a make that would've been either of those if it had an upgrade to its engine, chassis and bodywork. Whereabouts in Manchester - I'm guessing not Didsbury?

Ashar's car is a piece of crap.

Nowhere near a bmw or Mitsubishi.

I'm not going to tell you what it is, it's not tricky to spot though.

I have no idea where he lives in Manchestarrr, because I live in CM1.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
