Jonathan Trott
« on: May 04, 2015, 10:17:30 PM »
Just seen the sad news on SSN that Jonathan Trott has retired from international cricket for good as he feels he isn't up to the standard required, a great shame after all he did for England. A brave man to come out & speak so honestly, he will be greatly missed & sincerely hope he continues for Warwicks & gets a lot of runs, more importantly he has his peace of mind & can enjoy his career again.
Saw him at Chelmsford twice last season & he got a very warm reception from a knowledgeable & appreciative crowd, much deserved as well.
Good luck & peace for the future.

For a time he was up there with the greatest test batsmen ever.

He still ends with an average in the mid 40's which is nothing to sniff at.

Will probably get loads of runs in domestic cricket but has lost the ability to play genuine  quick short stuff.

Contrary to popular opinion there's plenty of fast bowlers in the CC. Whether they are any good is another matter though.
