Bangladesh 2023
« on: March 04, 2023, 09:39:26 AM »
The Mr White, powder detergent 50over series, already won with two victories, in a three match series. Couple of  decent centuries in each game by Malan and Roy on wickets which took turn put the runs on the board, with Mo and Rashid  the bowling spin twins ensuring victory. Will Jacks played needing game time after being in the test squad in NZ.
Well, the big question , is the detergent available at your local store and is it any good ? Personally found a soak in fairly liquid was the best way of getting the chlorine green out the whites .

My cupboards are still full with Tapal tea. Not sure I have room for the Mr White.

An excellent performance with the World Cup in India this year. I'd like to see Rehan Ahmed get a game in the 3rd ODI.

In the IPL, were the presenters for overseas viewers under contract to plug an Indian model of motor car? The type that over here would be written off in a collision with a bicycle.

Sadly no three nil Mr White ( powder detergent / product placement ) whitewash. Ahmed made his debut, only taking his first wicket with his final ball . Chasing just under 250, several got into the thirties but gave their wickets away, to leave England well short and a deserved victory to Bangladesh.
A three match T20 to follow, and with the test series just finishing last week,  one wonders if England could theoretically play three different teams in all three formats, given the pool of players to pick from ?

The Mr White, detergent powder T20 series, finishes a 3-0 whitewash for the hosts, playing the local conditions far better than the World T20 champions . With a small squad and several players playing in other leagues , the tournament was used to get familiar with conditions with future games in mind. Nobody enhanced their placed in the squad, although Rehan Ahmed now holds youngest England debutant in all three formats, and Jofra making a welcome return from a long term injury.
Seems these small competitions are used has a prelude in information gatherings with Major Tournaments the priority.

It was a dispiriting performance from England, the bowling of Archer, Curran and Rashid (and Rehan Ahmed to a certain extent) aside. Not calling up an extra batter to replace Jacks seemed to emphasise the lack of importance England attached to this series.

Bangladesh bowled very well, especially Taskin Ahmed. Not the best first class record, but he has pace.
